Open Education for Access, Equity, and Transformative Learning - Peer FLC
In this workshop, we'll explore the Open Education movement and the transformative pedagogical practices made possible by tools and materials that permit free access and reuse. We'll talk about how adopting (and perhaps creating) Open Educational Resources allows you to fully exercise your agency as a teacher, eliminate the access barrier for your students, and create more equitable learning environments. We'll also take a look at how involving your students in the creation of open materials can create authentic and deeply meaningful learning experiences, extend your courses beyond the span of a semester, and eliminate what have come to be known as "disposable" assignments.
